The name Tanzania conjures up images of wildebeest stampeding across vast savannah, rain forests teeming with monkeys and birdlife, and great plains brimming with legions of game. All of these natural wonders and more are on offer in this exceptionally diverse African nation. Visitors typically visit Tanzania to partake in at least one of the four well-known Tanzanian tourist experiences: a relaxing seaside vacation on the picturesque island paradise of Zanzibar, an underwater tour of some of the world’s most renowned dive sites around the gorgeous Spice Islands, a safari adventure in some of Africa’s most impressive game reserves, or a hiking excursion around Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Whichever of these incredible holidays you choose, you will undoubtedly be welcomed by some fabulously friendly and peaceful inhabitants who, despite being divided into 120 different ethnic groups and cultures, live in harmony with one another and provide some of the most wonderfully exotic local cuisine you could imagine. With all of this diversity on offer, the most difficult part of your Tanzanian holiday experience is likely to be deciding where to go!

Herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen around the Tarangire River, drinking or enjoying a mud bath. Apart from elephants, Tarangire is a paradise for bird lovers. Lake Eyasi Cultural Day
In the early morning, after taking tea & coffee in camp, you proceed driving with a local guide into the surrounding hills ridges in search of a Hadzabe encampment; arriving at their last known site of camp you proceed after them on foot. Upon meeting them you are introduced to the camp
members. Visit their tiny huts, follow the women on a gathering foray and see how roots are dug, mice are caught and berries and Baobab fruit are gathered and prepared, or follow the men on a hunt, led in the wildlife rich woodland between towering Baobabs and acacias. The men are armed with long bows with poison tipped arrows, which you can see produced in the village and honey axes. If successful on the hunt, or finding a beehive, you will be offered to share their meal, a small antelope, a Francolin or Guinea fowl as luck dictates that day. Return to your Camp for lunch. In the afternoon Set out and visit a Datooga community and learn about their traditional pastoral way of life. The women still wear leather dresses, traditional jewellery and distinctive facial scarification, and the men armed with spears tend to their vast herds. Visit the traditional homesteads and experience their way of life and time permitting pass by the traditional Datooga black smith, that still resides in the area. In the late afternoon return to Karatu your lodge.
After breakfast you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On this route there will be a high chance of seeing a lot of wildlife. After arriving at the crater rim, you will descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor. The views are amazing! This collapsed volcano creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. Enjoy the beautiful colors of the landscapes and the diversity of animals. The crater is home to the highest concentration wildlife in Africa and is full of elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five. The views from the crater rim over the crater floor are incredible. Because of its natural beauty the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. Ascend and drive to Ndutu. Dinner and Overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge.
Breakfast. Then continue your safari in the Serengeti national park. Its stunning landscape can be seen in some of the most impressive nature documentaries. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife are unsurpassed. The annual wildebeest migration with more than a million wildebeest is probably the highlight of the Serengeti. It is a true spectacle and impressive to watch millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles thunder across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Together with your private guide you will be looking for the herds across the plains. Apart from the migratory animals you will also get to see lots of other animals, like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park. Dinner and overnight at Tanzania Bush Camps.
Breakfast. A full day of game drives. Meals and overnight at Tanzania Bush Camps.
Breakfast. The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The areas that you visit will depend upon where the migrating herds are. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals and include lions, leopards (in the acacia trees) and cheetahs. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return up north. As the migration is completely dependent on the yearly rainfalls, the location of the herds may vary from year to year but your guide will know where to locate the animals and where to see them best. Meals and overnight at Tanzania Bush Camps - Mara River Camp or according to herds location.Optional Safari Activities: This morning you can do Balloon safari over the Serengeti on request and incur extra charges. Hot Air Balloon Ride. A hot air balloon ride above the plains of the Serengeti is truly magical. Witnessing wildlife from above at a slow pace is like no other experience you could ever imagine; you really feel as though you are in a live episode of National Geographic. Though not inclusive in our package, if you have the time to embark on this incredible experience, we highly recommend it.
Breakfast. The half day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park in the area and Seronera with lunch boxes, before departing for Ngorongoro. Arrive in the late afternoon and proceed on to Escarpment Luxury Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Most safari game drives concentrate along the Seronera River and with excellent reason: lion sightings are common and the riverbank is home to one of the world's densest population of leopards. The sausage trees and umbrella thorns rank among the best places in Africa to search for leopards - there are too few tall trees for these elusive creatures to be well-hidden. Several lion prides in the area have also taken to the trees regularly in recent years, particularly during the rains. A very special sight!
Breakfast. Finish your safari with a welcome to Lake Manyara National Park well known for its unusual climbing lions, the soda ash lake that attracts thousands of pink flamingos and elephant herds. After a farewell game drives and picnic lunches/hamper in the jungle, drive to Arusha Airport for afternoon scheduled flight to Zanzibar.
